Sister Jensen (and Brother Jensen),
First of all thank you so much for raising such a wonderful daughter! I get a sense that she has always been obedient and close to our Father in Heaven, but she has grown even closer to Him in her time here. She is such a blessing to us and to the people of Ecuador! Thank you for lending her to us!
We are big proponents of parents picking up their children on the mission. We did that with our daughter who served in Spain and it was one of the trips we will always remember so we will support you in any way.
Her day to be released is the 25th of March, which is a Tuesday. Our routine is to have their final interview and a group meal on Monday and then on Tuesday morning we go with all of them to the temple and then they leave that evening. If you are okay with us keeping that schedule with her, we will finish up around 2:00 in the afternoon on the 25th and you could pick her up any time that afternoon, evening or the following day. Let us know what is best for you and we’ll work it into our schedule. Do you plan on having her released over the phone with your Stake President or will she remain a missionary until she returns home? We are fine with whatever you want to do and will make our office available if you want to do a zoom call with the Stake President.
We can also give you the name of the woman in church travel who does the flights for the missionaries. She has been great to work with our other parents who have come and she schedules the missionary flights with what the parents want to do, so let us know and we can do that. We usually get the flights three months in advance so it would probably be some time in December when we purchase Hermana Jensen’s flights.
Thank you again for your daughter, what a great missionary she is!
President Barker
By the way, your daughter is such a great missionary. I’ve moved her from a leadership position to where she now is the person who is helping struggling missionaries. She is amazing and her companions are thriving from their time with her!! Such a blessing to the mission.
